Summer Game 2017!!!!!!! (And West Side Story, I guess)

Could it be? Yes it could. Something's coming, something good, if you can wait! Something's coming, I don't know what it is--hold on, yes I do: IT'S THE SUMMER GAME! You know, your favorite summertime activity, the one that gives you PUZZLES to solve, CODES to find, BADGES to earn, POINTS to get, and AMAZING AADL STUFF in the Summer Game Shop! We know you want more because when you're a summer gamer, you're a summer gamer all the way! Well, it's back! The game you wait all year for and have started nervously watching the sun go down every day wondering how you can make it through the summer days and oh those summer nights--sorry, wrong musical--without it?! Are you telling me you're not as excited as I am? BECAUSE I FEEL PRETTY EXCITED!

Okay, where was I? Oh yeah: I don't know what it is, but it is gonna be great! LIKE SERIOUSLY GREAT. Did you LOVE the Summer Game last year? Then you're going to LOVE it this year too. How do I know? Because we are making it to be just as awesome (maybe AWESOMER, but don't hold us to that) as ever! All the great exploration of your own hometown! All the crazy Ann Arbor Stories you've never heard before! All the ridiculous information you didn't think you'd ever need to know but suddenly find yourself digging into Wikipedia to find! And this year we have fantastic illustrations by local artist Jeremy Wheeler to make sure the game is as MONSTROUSLY AMAZING as it can be!

Something's coming, don't know when--except that we DO know when: June 16! Sorry it can't be tonight, tonight, but it's only 10 days away! But how will you know the exact second it all begins? Summer gamers, fear not, there's a place for us! Just open play.aadl.org in your browser as soon as June 16 hits and then feverishly refresh every half second or so until that GO! post goes live and then little boy, you're a man, little man, you're a king!

seriously LOVING all these West Side Story lyric cues lol. I can literally hear the different songs playing as I read them :)

Can't wait! Is it going to be the same as last year where badges drop at ~ 5-6 pm on Fridays? Also, is there going to be something for Pokemon Go players? I know the library has done events for the regular Pokemon game, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who picked up Pokemon Go to fill the Summer Game void.

Also will there be a big tie in to the Ann Arbor Comic Arts Festival again this year?

YES! I'd like to see even more than a blurb on this subject! WE LOVE the games and hope there's even more building up of it in our community this year! I tell everyone I know about it. It's the best thing our family does on a daily basis through the summer and it's over ALL too soon.

The Ann Arbor Comic Arts Festival is this coming Saturday, June 17th! It's a great way to jump-start those Summer Game points!!

I was checking the leaderboard because I was curious how many people had gone to Taste of Ann Arbor and gotten the code. How do some people already have 1000 points? Is there secret game play I'm missing out on?

No secret code, ZekicMom, there are only 2 codes out so far; a 500-pt code at Taste of Ann Arbor and a 500-pt code at Kids Rock last sunday. Thanks for asking!

The summer game really does get better every year. I don't know how you do it, but each year is more fun than the last. Looking forward to seeing what this year brings.

The Summer Game isn't long enough! All of the badges to find out, all of the codes to get around town, plus all of the other things in summer that aren't summer game, it is just so much! But still, the Summer Game is SUPER FUN!!!!!
