In many African countries, Ngoma is the holistic nature of the performing arts, viewing music, dance, and theatre not as separate arts, but as a single art form. Grammy Award-winning artist Haruna Walusimbi embodies this holistic approach. In this special performance, Haruna will share his deep knowledge of East African culture, leaving the audience with a heightened understanding and appreciation of the art form known as Ngoma. He will be joined by his close friend, former classmate at Makerere University, and Oakland University professor Mark Stone. The program will begin at 1pm on Sunday, April 26 at the Downtown Library.
