My husband has been waiting for the coffee! He asks me every week if it's been released yet, he'll be so excited to know I've ordered it for him.

P.S. ever since he first tried it by getting it through the SG, it's the only coffee he'll drink at home.

I had been planning to make it to the meeting tonight to earn the body electorate and above board badges. I just looked again and am I right in assuming that these are 2 seperate meetings at the same time? I wish I would have noticed that earlier, as I can't be in two places at the same time.

j mckinley, there's more than one meeting going on in town tonight, but the library board meeting is the only one giving points and badge for public comment. That meeting is 7 PM at the Downtown Library on the 4th floor. You can make a comment at the beginning or the end of the meeting; the code will be on the podium! Thanks for playing!

@eli. Is the body electorate badge incorrect then? It says if we attend one of those meetings we will receive a code for that badge. It has this listed as one of the dates. Monday, August 17, 2015 at 7:00 PM - Ann Arbor District Library Board. I copied and pasted that from my badge description.

@j mckinley, yes, Body Electorate is right! You can attend any one of those meetings to earn that badge. The Above Board badge can only be earned by making a public comment at an AADL board meeting; there was one in July and the last one of the summer is tonight. So, you can earn both Body Electorate and Above Board tonight if you attend and comment at the AADL Board meeting. Thanks!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but from what my husband said is it's very smooth. When his parents visited, his Dad wanted coffee and he told him about this and his Dad scoffed, then he had some and he was very impressed. He ended up having multiple cups. My husband said after drinking this, everything else tastes like dirt. Note, it is whole coffee beans that need to be ground. However, you can take it to Roos and they'll grind it for you, or you can buy an inexpensive grinder (that's what we did, got one for about $20).

I'm wondering the same thing as Judeyblu.

What makes this coffee worth it? Is it really that incredibly good?

*edit - Ok, thanks, AprilCDB. Maybe I'll try it.

Roos Roast is a local roaster & coffee shop. One of their coffees is Lobster Butter Love. My husband vastly prefers Sumatran coffee beans - they are easier on his stomach - and he really likes this coffee. All family members he's made it for also like it. He's also a fan of medium roasts (not dark). So if you enjoy smooth, low acid, medium roast, you might like this. Plus it's local and likely to be freshly roasted very soon before you receive it.

And no, it doesn't taste like lobster - and Roos Roast seems reluctant to divulge where the name comes from.

(I don't drink coffee myself so this is all second hand info...)

I can't wait for the the new shop items and the Game Over Gala! I have a suggestion for the Game Over Gala- how about all the players wear name tags with their account name (the one that appears on the comment threads; NOT the one ones on the leaderboard) so that everybody knows who they have been interacting with?

The Game Over Gala sounds like a ton of fun! I'll be thinking of all of you having a blast and I'll be wishing I didn't work Monday nights until 9pm!

Sounds exciting. Will be looking forward to the new items! I can't believe the games are almost over!

It was so fun meeting other gamers at the AADL meeting tonight! Especially reading the saga of the sunglasses on the friend codes thread, and then meeting the people involved!

IF ANYONE IS WONDERING, the AADL Ultrapremium Embroidered Logo Messenger fits 3 pairs of shoes, 1 laptop + charging cord, 1 (small) notebook, pencil case, cell phone, and water bottle. would recommend 10/10. Oh! And four hardcover/quite large library books.

That's good to know! I've been carrying my laptop in a backpack that doesn't fit it well and takes up a lot more room than I like - if there's a bag that fits my laptop + other gear without simultaneously being HUGE that sounds like something I'm interested in.

@LatitudeB - Now that is an extremely useful breakdown of the capacity of the Ultrapremium messenger bag. See, I'm not the only one who might need to tote around three pairs of shoes. Or at least conceive of such a situation. Thanks!

I AM HERE TO ANSWER:

Size 6 very old tennis shoes, size 8 blue flats, size 7.5 red patent flats

(sizing: women's US)

A women's size 7 is considered "average", to the best of my knowledge, so it is a pretty good indicator of size. I did admittedly stack them all on top of each other in the middle pocket, which should probably be saved for books and other flat, medium-sized things: they would not have bulked up the bag so much if they weren't in that pocket.

@LatitudeB
Thanks for the information, but is this all at once, or can it hold each one at different times? Also, what are the Ultrapremiun Embroidered Logo Messenger's dimensions?

Edit: Didn't read the rest of the comments until after I posted this comment. My question has been answered.

@sarai koster-mo. I agree totally! I had the pleasure of meeting him a few backs at the downtown branch. My niece and I were working on the lego codes in the basement and Adam and his mothef came down, we all worked together to figure out the answers. He is fantastic!

It should be noted that last might I tried it with my 13-inch small laptop, which fit with plenty of room to spare. For Research, I have just tried to fit my old 17-inch massive gaming laptop inside -- and it also fits! It's now annoyingly heavy now, but it does not bulk up at all. In fact, it's quite sleek. (The 3 pairs of shoes did make it kind of bulky though.)

There is also a cell phone pouch on the side, and I'm sure that many people despair cell phone pouches because they Just Aren't Big Enough, but it fits my HTC One (a relatively large phone) quite well.

I will probably not be able to make it to the Gala, but I'll be there in spirit. Hope everyone has a grand time. :)

tons and tons of points...don't think anyone can get them all...

Bummed I'll be missing the end of summer game event again this year! Unfortunately school starts for me and I'll be in class :( maybe next year!

I really enjoyed the CivCity badges! I learned a great deal about Ann Arbor City government and was very interested to actually see the people whose names I see in elections and newspaper articles in Ann Arbor. I attended all of the CivCity meetings and learned a lot about how meetings are run and what issues are being considered and decided upon in Ann Arbor. Excellent badges from CivCity and thank you for all your work creating them - I really enjoyed them.
