Part of the SummerGame2017 Game

Humans have been telling stories and writing them down for a very, very long time. This week, we’re going to take a look at Letterpress Printing! A printing press may seem a little slow in comparison to computer printing, but it was a huge innovation when it was first created. Before the idea of moveable type was introduced, though, books were printed using woodblocks. Each word was painstakingly carved into a piece of wood, which could then be covered in ink and used to print the pages of a book. Block printing is still around today, though you more commonly see it used for printing images. You’ll find your first code in the AADL catalog. Look for a book that is filled with hand-printing projects and you’ll find a code nearby.
