Hi judyblu, willow, and adeesh!
These scissors are within the TSA size requirements for scissor length (3 1/2 inches). They're also packaged with a measuring tape, in case they wanted to check. That said, though, I have had some TSA officers ask about a pair of similarly sized scissors I take with me when I'm planning to knit or do needlework on the plane. Though they've never been confiscated, there have been questions, and some agents are more strict about it than others.
I picked mine up today.
I picked mine up today. Inside it's a pretty standard sewing kit, but in it's little case with the library summer game logo on it, we'll, it's just so darned cute!
I will withhold my opinion
I will withhold my opinion about TSA, but I do believe the rules are enforced more strictly (and often incorrectly) for some people. I wouldn't personally go on an airplane with a bunch of questionable material. For needlework/yarn activities while traveling, an old dental floss container will work for the cutter, and it's acceptable on airplanes.
I've found the bigger and
I've found the bigger and busier the airport, the more strict (and often unfriendly) TSA agents can be. When we flew out of Flint, TSA there was easy and friendly. In Orlando, TSA made us stand around for 10 minutes while I waited for my wheelchair and sons snacks to be screened. After several minutes of waiting, when I politely inquired how much longer would we have to wait I was told "we're busy". I had to ask a second time about how long would we have to wait, and then treated like I was somehow imposing on their day. I realize they have difficult, demanding jobs... But geez.

this discussion of TSA and
this discussion of TSA and scissors reminds me of the time I flew to Ithaca back when TSA was much more strict (e.g. no scissors at all). I had taken along a stitchery project to do, but didn't take scissors. I bought some of the folding type in Ithaca, and forgot about them. Then I decided to carry-on my luggage on the way home instead of checking - or maybe the issue was that it was gate check since it was a prop plane? Anyway, I forgot the scissors were even in my bag. While we were waiting in this early morning line, we talked about how they just had one screener since it was a small airport and how slow it was - we might have even talked about friends who'd had trouble with accidentally carrying prohibited items. Next thing I know, my bag had to go through the x-ray a couple of times (so they could figure out what that metal thing was). Had to dig out those fold-up scissors and turn them over - and then the person I'd been hanging out in line with teased me mercilessly about holding up everyone else. :^)
