Description
Experimental cinema is often considered too esoteric and difficult for many moviegoers, but these films often provide a range of pleasures that mainstream movies do not. Experimental cinema is actually quite fun, if you know what to look for.
This presentation by Daniel Herbert, U-M Associate Professor in Screen Arts & Cultures, provides an opportunity to watch and discuss a few of the “canonical” works of experimental cinema, as well as some newer films, in order to better understand why they look (and sound) the way they do.
This event is co-sponsored by AADL and the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
