Description
Learn the rhythms in North Indian (or Hindustani) classical music through interactive exercises and visual media with drummer, percussionist, and composer Dan Piccolo.
Demonstrations on the tabla drums will accompany group participation using hand gestures and idiomatic syllables in simple rhythmic compositions. The focus will be on the 16-beat cycle known as tintaal, the most common beat cycle in Hindustani music.
