A Brand New Streets Quest!
by andrewjmac
It's that time of year when the world looks to Quest! Now that the weather's getting cold, Streets Quest is picking up steam with over 100 Questers hunting down panels and getting weird looks on the street from passersby. Except for those of you who manage (somehow) to complete the quests without leaving the warm glow of your screen. I suspect that will be pretty tough this time around, but I've been proven wrong before. Still, you'd do well to find your mittens. And back at home, you'll need to find your magnifying glass and look at the biggest version of the photo you can find to solve a lot of this month's clues (try clicking on the images and looking to see if there is an icon to make it bigger down in the corner for the closest look). Good luck hunting down those clues! Let's start it up:
If the folks in this panel had travelled through time,
They’d find themselves in this arcade:
But it doesn’t take quarters (or pennies or dimes),
And though different in structure, the name itself stayed.

Is there a problem with the code for the 6th clue of the Old Newsmakers? I've tried about 6 combinations of possible names of the biz that I'm pretty sure is the right one. Or am I off base?
Several people have completed
Several people have completed that quest, so there must be a code and it must be findable. I myself am stuck on the third codes of that series, having no luck searching many, many combinations of keywords so far.
@pk: Search for the biz
@pk: Search for the biz mentioned in the clue in the content. You cannot miss it - 2 words.
@cherylo: If you know what the biz were in the first two, look beyond them to find this one. Close up will help.
@rimpopu - thanks! That
@rimpopu - thanks! That helped me know I was on the right track. I was confused because there are actually two articles that mention the dissolution of the biz in the clue and one article lists a different (and also common) name for the answer (as well as the correct answer). The other article mentions primarily the correct answer.
I am a bit confused with the
I am a bit confused with the 4th glass gazing clue. Is it a complete sentence I am looking for or just the words under the rte#?
I'm still on the first codes
I'm still on the first codes for the badges. For online onlooker , I know what a JD is, but the actual book title?

No, not an actual title of an actual book. As the hint may say, look closely at the photo that you find when you search. Very closely. You will see what you seek!
@rimpopu, the words, the
@rimpopu, the words, the number, and the word before the number are all needed for the Glass Gazing #4 code. (Man, it was cold out there this evening when I went to do that badge. Freezing!) Also, thanks for the Old News help, above! It helped a lot!
About the clue for glass gazing #2, the year on the plaque was 1918, not 1915 like I was expecting. I don't think it's necessary to get the answer (because, obviously, I got it), but still.
Things I found out during this quest: I missed the Kresge's by mere months! I arrived in A2 in September of 1987.
only Glass Glazing left!
only Glass Glazing left! According to staff, it's impossible to be given a hint without being told the code
I have some catching up to do
I have some catching up to do after a long break from questing. @cherylo: Thanks for the hint. I am not sure I went to the right b.st. I went to the left of the previous clue location and across the street to reach the nearest b st. I saw just a white board with rte# as at any other place. Was I at the right place?
@rimpopu, no need to cross
@rimpopu, no need to cross the street from the starting location to find the right stop, er, spot.
Anyone else having trouble
Anyone else having trouble seeing clues on their mobile? Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't.
Where can I find the pic
Where can I find the pic featured in the glass gazing badge? I have looked several places but I still can't find it

I have been looking for several days now for the answer for the glass gazing question to the State Street quest. I'm curious lmd3577, what search words did you use for the last two GG questions?I tried many different different words and I ended up going downtown.Very cold! Any hints for the last GG question?

I hope I will see the January installment tomorrow. I guess I stayed up for nothin'. ;-)
Also, the comment post times seem to reflect EDT instead of EST.
Sorry about the new Streets
Sorry about the new Streets Quest not going up until today guys! Ran into some technical difficulties and a closed library left no way to fix them until today! It's up now, so good luck!

I am still at 4th GG code. I am very curious to know if anyone found all the GG codes of this quest online. I could find only the first three. I tried several clues for the 4th but couldn't find it.
@cherylo: Thanks for the hint. I haven't been able to go to that part of downtown yet. I didn't know there was a stop close to the business in the 3rd clue. I must have gone past it the last time I was there.
The stop is next to the
The stop is next to the street panel.
If you're stuck on online
If you're stuck on online onlooker #4, skip to January's panel, that's where you'll find the answer.

I know the Streets Quest is
I know the Streets Quest is two years old, but I'm stuck on the 5th Glass Gazers code to Streets Quest #4. Any hints? I took a picture of the Bivouac's hours on the door and have tried every combination that I could think of and I'm stuck.
