hmmm

Found it - nothing I want this week. I finally hung up my Motawi tiles from the first secret shop & they are gorgeous! I still wish we could get points for solving the secret shop riddle & finding the shop! That would be cool.

it says that the Green & Blue Glass Mosaic Necklace on Silver Chain by Mosaic Geek! is out of stock

it took me 2 minutes to find the shop

Shannon is a great artist, she has work available at the Ann Arbor Art Center & has participated in their 30x30 event! Love her stuff.

Congrats, Juliette. That necklace is sure nice. I think I will wait for next week; the necklace would have been nice, but nothing else really speaks to me.

As for a hint to find the shop, one of the nouns in that riddle is a keyword that will help you get there.

wow... 3 minutes and all the necklace, the space invader tile, the archie comics, etc. is gone

I'm going to save my points to over 100000 SG points (if possible) and see what I can get when I do. I still have plenty of badges to hunt for. (and plenty of Secret shop tokens)

only 3 were revealed including the Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and the silver super package thingy (Which is how I got last year's chocolate, I still have it too)

I started a few lists last year that have been helpful when I've been recommending books to friends. For example, I have one with my favorite mystery authors, another with books that both my sons and I have enjoyed reading together over the years, and another with my favorite books from when I was a kid. So when I want to suggest some books to someone, I can just pass them the link to my list.

I love the wishlist that I discovered doing the summer game last year. It's great to keep track of books you want to read but don't want to request all at once.

Darn - missed out on the shop items again. When will I learn to clear my calendar at 6pm every Friday??? Good stuff this week, too, but it's all gone.

Anyone else have the problem saying that their shop token code doesn't work because the code is the same as last week?

@chloelovellroot, you don't get an automatic secret shop token every week. You only get that code once, for finding your first secret shop. Other than that one point, you can earn them with the points-o-matic or by completing the Treasure Quest.

List Master badges should be fixed now, guys. Next time you score points for something you will get those badges that you have coming to you. Sorry that didn't work right away!

-andrew

Thank you, andrew. I'm a little sorry that this is what you're doing on a Friday night, but on the other hand this is what I'm doing on a Friday night. ;-) Have a great rest of your weekend.

cherylo: Don't worry about me, I just like to check in now and then and make sure things are working properly. And with 60 comments on this post in just 6 hours, it seems to be the place to be on a Friday evening.

Also, it's fun to put up badges and see how many people have gotten them a few hours later! Makes the making worth it!

My wishlist has almost 50 items in it (been adding a lot of interesting things while looking for game codes), but I've only gotten points for the 2 items I added tonight, instead of all of the items on my wishlist. Shouldn't I already have 2 list badges? I just made the lists public tonight, if that helps.

Also, I have to say I am very disappointed that the secret shop sold out so quickly! I was trapped in rush hour traffic, and by the time I got back to a computer all the things I liked were already gone! Guess next week I'm going to have to pounce.

You only get list master status for PUBLIC lists. If checkout history counted, I would have made Ultra by now. I suppose it is possible to make your checkout history public, but I am not sure I would advise that.

I'm guessing the mystery items are going to be somewhat like last year's, so I'm wondering: Will the "gold prize" for this year contain some of the things in the Peniltimate silver set? I want to get it, but I'm afraid of getting duplicates (though I have enough points anyways haha).

I'm kind of scared that I have enough free time to add 3063 items to lists. :P

Wow! Things are selling out faster and faster, it seems! I've got to remember to log in right at 6pm next week. Ahh well, I was enjoying New Members Night at the Toledo Zoo, in spite of the rain, so I'm not *too* disappointed and though I would've loved the ABC poster, I'm not sure where I would've put it anyway!

Thanks, Andrew, for the update on the list-making badges. It definitely pays to check out the comments before putting in any sort of "contact us" about it.

I absolutely loved the Dr. Seuss badge! "Seussical" is one of my favorite musicals and I enjoyed the way the creator combined the musical with the books for some terrific clues. :) That was fun. :) Of course, now I have the songs stuck in my head for the rest of the day. ;)

So....I think I've done every puzzle-type badge there is EXCEPT I can't find the code in the Olympic Medallurgy for the "Event Out" badge...code #5 that the clue is "they needed too many props." Guessing "props" refers to motor boating, speed boating, power boating...tried every combo of those words, one word, two words, just "boat," etc. and I'm going crazy. Don't want the answer....just a hint in the right direction. :)

Wow! so many comments! I need help with the Gold and Silver Where? badge. Not sure what to search for. medal color? event won? the country? Help

Thanks to everyone who commented about the Seuss badge! :) I was recently in the musical and so I decided to create the badge :)

Ahhhhh okay. That's where I went wrong. The part that said "find her exact phrase for your next code" made me think the phrase itself was the code. Thanks Zhengyang!!

I'm having a horrible time with the Queen's English badge. I'm on the 3rd clue about her "horrible year". I've found the phrase on Wikipedia, but after trying several different variations, I'm not coming up with whatever it is they're looking for. I tried just the two words. I tried the whole phrase she attributes to the letter she received. I tried the whole sentence and I tried both sentences contained in the quote. Can anyone give me a hint such as how many words I'm supposed to be using?

Thanks!

@Zhengyang - The fifth code in the love badge is semi-easily found if you take the type of sport as a keyword in "books" (specifically graphic novels). There are many volumes of this particular title but it IS there if you keep looking.

The sixth one is a film by Studio Ghibli if that helps any. I don't want to get too specific because I don't want to give it away. Try searching one of the character descriptions given as a "keyword" in movies.

Hope that helps!

Which code is that? What's the clue? (I'm doing this one the iPad, so even though I already finished the badge the badge list is not iPad friendly and doesn't scroll down on the badge page. So I can't see the codes or hints.)

The clue is "It's a comedy!"
I also need help with the fifth I am your father code. Does it have something to do with powers, don't get it at all...

gxl-

Find a list of that famous Elizabethan playwright's plays and compare it to the code's text. It should be relatively easy if you do. (Or maybe that's just my bias as the creator.)

Still haven't found the fourth code to the love badge...I know the playwriter, but I don't know whcih comedy it is, I tried searching so of them, but no luck. :(

gxl: "Still haven't found the fourth code to the love badge...I know the playwriter, but I don't know whcih comedy it is, I tried searching so of them, but no luck. :("

The words "a play the way you like it" are a key to figuring out which play it is. If you can find a list of his work, the one in question should be apparent.

gxl: "I also need help with the fifth I am your father code. Does it have something to do with powers, don't get it at all..."

Powers part of a character's name. He is from the 60's, but not all of the settings he is in are in the 60's.

Morgsush, on an ipad, to get past that bug, press and hold on the badge you want to see, then choose open in new tab! That way you'll get a tab just for that badge detail page.

this is a question about an old badge from last year's summer game, but can anyone help me find the 4th (out of 5) codes for Do Butlers Burgle Badges? It is driving me crazy!

Is anyone else having trouble with the last clue of the "Team Titans" badge? I searched for the team's moniker, but I don't see a Game Code on any of the four entries that come up. :-/

for the last code in team titans, search for the five gymnasts of america this year. One is Gabby. I need help with the FOURTH code. I know where they were all from, not finding anything.

VickyB77: Hmmm.....did you try F******* F*** or *** F***? (I'm sorry if you don't understand what I'm saying. I don't want to give the answer away for people who haven't gotten the badge yet. Oh, and I'm not swearing.) You should try the second one. That did it for me.

I need help with the fourth code in the "Condescending Wonka." I thought the "Willy" in question is an orca, but I wasn't able to find a book about him with a code. Any tips please?

Still can't find the fifth code to the I am your father badge...not very good at this...
I love the last two places to find the Love is in the Eyre...guess I'm totally Japanese influenced...

@gxl - The 5th code in the "I am your father" badge is in a movie that has a character with the last name "Powers". Many of these movies are set in the 60's, though not all of them. Some are parodies of other famous spy movies.

Hope that helps without giving too much away!

@ ilyjtwya: I'm pretty sure the fourth code is in a book about an elephant, you will find it by searching willy in the catolog...I found all the codes but the first one...help, maybe?

Stay tuned guys! We're just confirming supplies with Shakolad, we will be restocking the chocolate, friday at the latest. We will restock the master set on friday too. And, not everything has yet been revealed! We still have, by my count, 6 SUPER ITEMS and 1 SUPER PACKAGE yet to be posted, so super, not even mystery items can contain them. As this year, all summer game points and secret shop tokens will transfer to next summer's game. Any other questions?

vadnala, yes, I got to score the points for my own badges. However, it takes a lot more time and effort to construct a badge than to solve someone else's badge, so you will not see me feeling guilty about that one bit.

If we don't spend all our points this year, do they carry over to the next year? Anyone?

messa, the leftover points from last year's summer game are available to spend in the shop this year, so I expect that would continue. I have no ideas about secret shop tokens, though.

How do you get to make your own badge? I'm a dedicated player who'd like to be included in this inner circle!

I don't know if this will help people or not, but throwing it out there since many seemed confused.

For the fifth clue of the "Team Titans" badge - the team has been given two different nicknames. Look for the shorter of the two. :)

@vadnala , here is my process:

I create specifications for each code, including:
-the code itself
-the URL of the item in the catalog I want it to appear on
-the text for redeeming it (which includes the clue for the next item, because that's the style of badge I designed)
-the alternate/clue text (what you see on the clue page, or what you see on another player's ledger, if they allow you to see detail; you can look at mine, for example, because I allow all detail to be seen)

and also:
-a suggested badge image with description and/or URLs.
-the initial clue/description, which is used as the mouseover text on the main badge page, and the description on the badge progress page and the 2012 summer game badges listing.

I then take all this and send it to the summer game staff members, through the 'contact us' link. They create the badge image, do the programming of databases and pages that show the badge image and details, and add it to a badge drop message.

I was notified a design was accepted a few hours to a day ahead of the badge drop in which my badges were included, by being told, here's the badge page, go check it for any problems.

If you work on a badge quest, good luck and good catalog hunting to you! I did a lot of testing of possible searches based on my clues to make sure it was possible and not too obtuse to follow the trail. I encourage you to think about the searches your clues might inspire.

That's okay...I don't think people read these comments that much. They're all reading the comments for badge drop 9.5. :P

In reply to by Morgsush

...Do you mean Zhengyang1022?...Cause if you mean him he commented he did pass...if you mean J****** Z. Then I don't really know...

...Just when I'm commenting or emailing I call her that, since there are too many Jessicas I could be referring to, but in class it's obvious because I'm talking directly to her...

...Morgsush you have to see this comment...<strong>Morgsush you passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 people passed, but I don't think one of them is going into algebra 2, so that means 6 people are taking algebra two from Clague, 4 people including you from math club passed...there will be a geometry class at Clague so I think only 6 people are going to Huron...

...Actually someone else passed that isn't going on she is also one of our friends...I think she isn't going on at least...the counselor showed my mom the page of people would passed and you were on that list, so you passed, congrat!!!!!!!...

...do you mean who is it?...well she will either comment here, I don't think she really comments, or you will find out when you get back from China and we will tell you...

I got a letter a few days ago saying that I passed the Geometry test. Now I'll be going to Algebra 2 in Skyline....

No, it was super hard, there is trigonometry, which was actually the easy part. You have to solve a lot of stuff about 3d figures, and write proofs and stuff. One of my smartest arch enemies said he didn't pass...but he did in the end, but a lot of people didn't pass...

Maybe you would have more friends if only you stopped teasing them (about "interesting stuff")--like Moi!!! See? Even though it's really hard with Ninny-the-Poo.

My undergrad degree is in linguistics. French and Japanese happen to be the languages that I formally studied for 1 or more years. I do know a smattering of words and weird grammatical things in lots of languages, though.

I bet you want to be a Kris (or an Amber) then. (Kpop reference! :D

Re: Smiles
I tease you about interesitng stuff? Like what? And when?
I agree, Ninny the Pooh is so annoying and hard to not tease.

Looking for help with the second code for the Teen Titans badge. I think I have the second clue right M****** M******, but there are over 1600 results when I search the catalog with both words. I've checked the first 30 hits with no luck so far. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions for the last clue of the Queen's English badge? It's the one that talks about adjectives to describe the queen (gracious, noble, victorious, and glorious). The hint says: I bet those words all show up together somewhere.
